The German tour of Stefan Zweig in the Land of the Future

Stefan Zweig in the Land of the Future was presented in Munich on 29th May at an event organized by Christopher Hak, Gustavo Dessoy Maciel and Juliana Costa, of CASA DO BRASIL. We thank the organizers for their support and those present at the debate, on the eve of a bank holiday weekend.

On 4th July the historian and specialist in exile literature, Marlen Eckl, professor at the Free University of Berlin, Berthold Zilly and journalist and translator Kristina Michahelles, spoke about Zweig, exile literature and the new book by Alberto Dines, at the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin. CASA STEFAN ZWEIG is grateful for the support received by the cultural attaché of the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin, Gustavo de Sá, and to ambassador Everton Vargas.

On 8th June it was the University of Hamburg`s turn. Professors Vania Kahrsch and Martin Neumann, of the Institute for Romanic Studies, invited the book’s German translator, Kristina Michahelles, to give a lecture to the students of the translation course, who are working on the first pages of Brazil, Land of the Future, the classic which inspired the new book by Dines. The lecture-class took place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Portuguese Language Center of the University of Hamburg.
