15 Decisive Months

The book, published by EMC, was launched at the National Library. It covers the 15 months between the moment the Austrian writer decided to leave England (May 1940) and return to Brazil to fulfill his promise to write a book about that country, which had taken him in as an exile, to its simultaneous publication in six languages (August 1941). Generously illustrated with documents from the manuscripts department of the National Library, photos and contemporary news clippings, the book is bi-lingual, with a German translation by Kristina Michahelles. The book can be bought for R$60. The money raised will be entirely re-invested in reforming the house where Zweig lived, in PetrĂ³polis.
